Commission FAQS
Why commission a painting?
A commissioned paintings is a wonderful way to artistically capture a view of your favorite landscape or memorable scene or create a piece of art that’s made to fit the feeling, color palette, and size for your space. When commissioning a painting, I will work one-on-one with you in either meetings at my studio or video calls to create a painting specific to your needs and space that you will love.
What can I commission?
You can commission cityscapes, landscapes, or still lifes. You can either provide me with your own reference photos of what you would like me to paint, or you can request that I take reference photos.
How long will it take?
Commissioned paintings depend on the size of the painting and the complexity of the subject. Smaller paintings can be completed and shipped within two to three months, while larger paintings may take several months. Let me know if you are on a tight schedule, such as a birthday or holiday gift, and I will try my best to accommodate your schedule.
What is the commission process like?
First, we have a conversation where we talk about the subject, painting size, and other details of the painting. Filling out the form below beforehand will help guide the conversation. I will create a contract with the commission details and timeline that we both agree to. I then create a draft/concept image of what the painting will look like in Procreate. Here, you will either approve the design or request adjustments. I’ll create the painting based on the concept image and our discussions, and ship the painting once it’s complete!
How much does a commission cost?
My commissioned paintings are priced based on size. The minimum size for a commission is 12in x 16in. Below are some example prices:
12in x 16in: $1,000
16in x 20in: $1,600
18in x 24in: $2,200
24in x 36in: $4,400
30in x 40in: $6,000
36in x 48in: $8,600
50% of the cost is due prior to starting the painting process, and the remaining 50% is due upon completion of the painting, prior to shipping. For local pickups, the second 50% is due at time of receipt.
Additional costs may apply if you request me to travel to a specific location to take reference photos or if you request additional revisions, etc.
